Memorializing Slavery in Detroit and Martinique
The Center for Social Solutions is proud to connect with the Department of Afroamerican and African Studies to promote their fall term exhibition at GalleryDAAS. Using photographs of memorials to slavery as a story visual, “Il faut se souvenir, we must not forget” is a multi-media exhibit that explores the little-known history of slavery in the city of Detroit and its unexpected connection to the French island of Martinique.
