The work of Gan--Gomez

Sakellaridis-Venkatesh conjectured a Plancherel decomposition of the local L2 spectrum of a spherical variety coming from the distinguished morphism between the dual groups. In this talk we will introduce how Gan and Gomez verified this conjecture for spherical varieties of low ranks using theta correspondence. If time permits, we will also introduce local relative character identity and its relation with factorization of global period. Speaker(s): Guanjie Huang (UM)
