Community members are encouraged to bring unused or expired medications and used sharps (needles, syringes, and lancets) for safe, responsible disposal.\n\nParticipants may either drive up or walk up to the drop-off location: Ingalls Mall, 881 N University St (North Washington St across from Rackham).\n\nParticipation and Preparing for Drop-Off\nThis event is free and open to the public, and there is no limit to the amount of medications or sharps that community members may bring for disposal. Medications do not need to be in their original bottles to be accepted. Pill bottles may be brought with medications inside, and student volunteers will remove personal information and recycle bottles whenever possible.\n\nPlease refer to the event flyer on this page for detailed information about accepted items and sharps preparation guidelines.\n\nAdditional Information\nThe College of Pharmacy typically hosts Safe Medication and Sharps Disposal events twice each year, generally on the first Tuesday of April and October. Because the event is organized and staffed by student volunteers, scheduling may vary slightly from year to year.
