DESCRIPTION:Learn about coral reefs and how these unique ecosystems have a crucial role in supporting our planet. U-M researcher Dr. Bardwell will lead a tour of his coral reef tanks and share how sustainability and coral reefs are intertwined. Participants will have the opportunity to get a close-up look at coral reefs and discover the intricate lives of the creatures who live here.\n\nDue to the small room size\, this event involves standing for the entire duration of the event. If you need alternate arrangements\, please indicate that in the registration form or email pba-information@umich.edu as soon as possible.  \n\nWe will be meeting at the BSB West Atrium before traveling to Dr. Bardwell’s office together. Swipe access is required to access the coral reefs\, so please arrive on time to ensure you can join us for the tour.\n\nThe event is free and open to any U-M community member\, but registration is required. Space is limited for this program\, so please confirm your attendance for this event. DESCRIPTION:Join the Planet Blue Ambassador Program for a lunch & learn about climate communication! Talking about climate change with others may feel uncomfortable\, but it doesn’t have to! This event features a presentation of climate communication tips and lessons followed by interactive activities practicing communication skills with partners! Using methods from Climate scientist Dr. Katharine Hayhoe\, as well as professors from the University of Michigan\, this event will help participants build confidence in talking about climate change in our daily life.\n\nThe event is free and open to any U-M community member\, but registration is required. DESCRIPTION:Join the Planet Blue Ambassador program and Matthaei Botanical Gardens and Nichols Arboretum (MBGNA) for an outdoor walk at the Nichols Arboretum. We will go on a short nature trail and engage in reflective activities as we discover the beauty of the Arb. Meet us at the bus stop outside of Markley Hall (facing the hospital on E Medical Center Dr)\, and we'll walk over to the Arb together.\n\nThe event is free and open to any U-M community member\, but registration is encouraged. This event is part of Welcome to Michigan and is primarily intended for students. Please email pba-information@umich.edu with questions.\n\nPlease note that this session requires walking outdoors on an uneven trail over a distance of approximately a mile.
