SUMMARY:Social / Informal Gathering:Creative Reuse at the Lab Swap Shop
DESCRIPTION:In association with the Michigan Arts Festival hosted by the Arts Initiative\, the Lab Swap Shop will be holding creative reuse workshops during regular Thursday hours from October 1 to October 29. These events use surplus lab supplies for art activities\, demonstrating the different ways that items can be reused. Workshop activities are as follows:\n--- 10/1: Block Printing Lab Coats **During Climate Week 2026**\n--- 10/8: Flask Potion Making\n--- 10/15: Flask Vase Painting\n--- 10/22: Serological Pipette Pointillism Painting\n--- 10/29: Spooky Swap Shop - Any and all crafts!\n\nJoin us for these events and get free supplies for your lab while you are there! DESCRIPTION:Connect with fellow U-M and Ann Arbor community members in a safe space to pause\, connect\, and talk about their experiences regarding the environment and climate change\, a.k.a. Climate Café. In this small group\, we encourage participants to share their stories and discover connections between our experiences. During this event\, participants will bridge gaps between climate emotions and sustainability action in our lives\, and learn how to care for ourselves and others. Light refreshments will be provided.\n\nWe wish to provide uninterrupted discussion time\, and make sure that everyone has a chance to speak and be heard. Due to the nature of this activity\, participants should arrive at the start time promptly. \n\nThe event is free and open to any community member\, but registration is required.
