DESCRIPTION:Mabuhay! The Filipino American Student Association (FASA) is hosting this year's Philippine Culture Night (PCN) on Friday\, January 23rd\, 2026 from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM at the Lydia Mendelssohn Theatre.\n\nPCN is an annual show FASA conducts as a way of celebrating\, sharing\, and honoring Filipino/Filipino American culture through various acts such as traditional dances\, musical performances\, acting\, spoken word\, and discussion. This year\, our theme is \"Matatag\" or resilience\, where we will be discussing Philippine resistance to colonization\, assimilation\, dictatorship\, and displacement\, through the preservation of language\, dialects\, stories\, and culture.  \n\nJoin us for a night of celebration\, music\, dance\, and fun. SUMMARY:Performance:A2 Dhoom
DESCRIPTION:A2 Dhoom is an annual collegiate Bollywood-fusion dance competition\, first held at the University of Michigan in 2012 until its last competition in 2019. It is a regional competition affiliated with Desi Dance Network (DDN)\, a national organization that connects over 80 university teams and hosts the national competition Legends for the top-ranked collegiate Bollywood-fusion teams in the circuit. The competition will involve 8 competing teams as well as 2 additional exhibition performances by student organizations at Michigan. This competition provides student dancers and teams a platform to showcase their creativity\, artistic expression\, and technical skill while celebrating the rich and diverse cultural heritage of South Asia through dance.

SUMMARY:Conference / Symposium:PEARS 2026
DESCRIPTION:PEARS 2026 (Peer-led\, End-of-year A/PIA Research Symposium) is a joint undergraduate and graduate student research symposium that will take place at the end of winter semester at the University of Michigan Museum of Art (UMMA). Students can elect to do a poster presentation or do a ~10 minute talk with slides. The topic should be related to Asian American Studies\, Pacific Islander Studies\, Critical Ethnic Studies\, etc. \n\nThis is a great opportunity for undergraduate students to present their ideas\, interact with graduate students\, build up their CV\, and potentially win prizes! The first hour will be poster presentations in the forum\, and the next two hours will consist of talks in the auditorium. Food and swag provided!
