Seats are offered on a first come\, first served basis\; please arrive early to secure a spot.\n\nGarth Greenwell is the author of *What Belongs to You*\, which won the British Book Award for Debut of the Year\, was longlisted for the National Book Award\, and was a finalist for many other awards\, including the PEN/Faulkner Award\, the *LA Times* Book Prize\, and the James Tait Black Memorial Prize. His second book\, *Cleanness*\, was a finalist for the Lambda Literary Award and was longlisted for the Gordon Burn Prize\, the Joyce Carol Oates Prize\, and the Prix Sade\, among others. A *New York Times Notable Book*\, it was named a Best Book of 2020 by over thirty publications. \n\nGreenwell’s new novel\, *Small Rain* won the 2025 PEN/Faulkner Award and was longlisted for the National Book Critics' Circle Award. His cultural criticism appears widely\, and he writes regularly about books\, music\, and film for the Substack newsletter *To a Green Thought*. He has taught at the Iowa Writers’ Workshop\, Princeton University\, Grinnell College\, and the University of Mississippi\, where he was the John and Renée Grisham Writer in Residence. She was a 2024 National Book Foundation “5-under-35” honoree\, and is the recipient of the 2025 Bard Fiction Prize. She is author of three books of poetry: Something About Living (UAkron\, 2024)\, winner of the 2024 National Book Award and winner of the 2022 Akron Prize for Poetry\, Kaan & Her Sisters (Trio House Press)\, finalist for the 2024 Firecracker Award and honorable mention for the 2024 Arab American Book Award\, Water & Salt (Red Hen)\, winner of the 2018 Washington State Book Award and honorable mention for the 2018 Arab American Award. She is also the author of two chapbooks\, Arab in Newsland\, winner of the 2016 Two Sylvias Prize\, and Letters from the Interior (Diode\, 2019)\, finalist for the 2020 Jean Pedrick Chapbook Prize.\n\nHer writing has been published in journals including Los Angeles Review of Books\, Michigan Quarterly Review\, The Nation \, Poets.org \, Protean \, and Prairie Schooner and in anthologies including The Long Devotion (Georgia Press)\, We Call to the Eye and the Night (Persea Press)\, and Gaza Unsilenced (Just World Books). Kochai was born in an Afghan refugee camp in Peshawar\, Pakistan\, but his family originally hails from Logar\, Afghanistan. His short stories have appeared in *The New Yorker*\, *Ploughshares*\, *The O. Henry Prize Stories*\, and *The Best American Short Stories*. Bingham Prize\, the Hurston-Wright award for fiction\, and the Paterson Prize for fiction\; her second won the Janet Heidinger Kafka Prize and The Bridge Book Award and was a finalist for The Aspen Prize\, The Story Prize\, and The LA Times Book prize. She is a 2024 USA Artists Fellow\, a 2020 National Endowment for the Arts fellow\, and the winner of New Literary Project Joyce Carol Oates Prize. Her stories have appeared in magazines including *The Paris Review\, A Public Space\, American Short* *Fiction\, and The Sewanee Review*\, and have been anthologized in *The Best American Short Stories and New Stories From The South*. She is an Associate Professor in The Writing Seminars at Johns Hopkins University and earned her MFA from The University of Iowa. \n\nHer work is interested in the gap between what happened and how people talk about it—what gets omitted or reframed\, what depends on whose version of the story is centered\, and how those gaps and omissions operate in the space of an individual life\, in a family\, and in a country. Told over a single 6½-hour production (plus dinner break)\, GATZ is not just a retelling of the Gatsby story\, but an enactment of the novel in which Fitzgerald’s masterpiece is cleverly delivered word for word.
