DESCRIPTION:Founded in 2011\, Depot Town Big Band is a full 17-piece traditional big band playing charts from the 1940s (Glenn Miller) to the present (Gordon Goodwin). This Ypsilanti-based community band has attracted the talents of professional musicians\, music educators and jazz enthusiasts from University of Michigan\, Michigan State University and Eastern Michigan University. This performance is part of Michigan Medicine’s Gifts of Art Summer Courtyard Concert Series. You can also visit the MHealthy Farmers Market in the courtyard. DESCRIPTION:The University of Michigan Stamps School of Art & Design is pleased to announce Reach: A Stamps Faculty Exhibition\, on view Tuesday\, May 16 - Saturday July 8\, 2017 in the new downtown Ann Arbor Stamps Gallery (201 S. Division St.\, Ann Arbor). An exhibition reception will take place on Friday\, June 16 from 6 - 8 pm. The exhibition and the reception are free and open to the public.\n\nReach: A Stamps Faculty Exhibition brings together a cross-section of rigorous and research-based works that highlight the range and diversity of creative practices emerging from the University of Michigan’s Stamps School of Art & Design. Stamps Faculty wear multiple hats as educators\, storytellers\, artists\, and designers.  Their work is a vehicle to deepen research and expand the pedagogical frameworks of contemporary art and design practices in the 21st Century. By experimenting with mediums\, materials\, audience interaction\, and participation\, Reach brings together energizing and compelling paintings\, sculpture\, new media installations\, collage and found objects\, video\, performance\, and textile design. DESCRIPTION:If you are providing a service\, it is important to know the best ways to communicate with and about individuals who may have disabilities. This session will help you to understand how to best serve individuals with disabilities\, and will also give you some etiquette pointers that you can use in your everyday life.
