This formal\, largely-guided\, practice utilizes evidence-based cognitive training that bolsters one's ability to handle stress\, poor mood\, and threat.  This weekly mindfulness practice encourages present moment\, non-judgemental\, awareness – noticing where your focus and attention are and continually inviting attention to current mind and body sensations in a kind and compassionate way.\n\nMindfulness meditation opens the possibility to pause\, gain perspective\, attend to the present\, and respond accordingly. In our ever-changing\, complex\, and challenging world\, mindfulness can provide grounding. DESCRIPTION:Join Dr. Bosse on Wednesday\, February 8th\, from 1-2 pm to learn about the cutting-edge research performed in his laboratory and the various career opportunities available. Dr. Bosse's laboratory focuses on developing new immune-based therapies for neuroblastoma\, an embryonal malignancy of the developing nervous system\, and other lethal pediatric solid tumors. Through these studies\, Dr. Bosse and his colleagues hope to improve their understanding of the critical biologic mechanisms driving neuroblastoma tumorigenesis and translate transformative new immunotherapeutics to the pediatric oncology clinic. The Bosse Laboratory aims to capitalize on the robust differential expression of several new molecules with immune-based therapies and define their mechanisms of tumor-specific overexpression and their role in tumorigenesis.
