DESCRIPTION:Venture For America is a two-year Fellowship program for early-career professionals who are interested in entrepreneurship\, job creation\, and careers at startups. Fellows apply for jobs within our private jobportal\, learn important startup skills starting at our summer Training Camp\, and work for two years as full-time\, salaried employees in one of 13 cities. Throughout the Fellowship and after\, VFA provides regional and national programming to help Fellows build community\, grow into startup leaders\, and turn their business ideas into reality. The Fellowship is open to recent college graduates who are U.S. citizens\, permanent residents\, or DACA recipients and are willing to live and work in one of our cities.\n\nHear the stories of startup leaders who got their start with Venture for America and gain insight into how the Fellowship shaped their entrepreneurial careers.

DESCRIPTION:Originally from the tiny rural town of Monkey’s Eyebrow\, Kentucky\, Kelsey Waldon has long relied on music as a lifeline. “I’ve always used songwriting as a way to process the world around me and also process my own thoughts and feelings\,” Kelsey says\, naming classic country artists Loretta Lynn\, George Jones\, and Merle Haggard among her early influences. Kelsey’s 2014 debut album “The Goldmine\,” though self-released\, made a major impact\, and its 2016 follow-up\, “I’ve Got a Way\,” landed on numerous year-end best lists. Invited by the late John Prine to join the lineup of is Oh Boy label\, she was the label’s first outside signing in 15 years. Kelsey comes to The Ark with a new release\, “No Regular Dog.”\n---\nProof of COVID vaccination required for entry.
