DESCRIPTION:Many students don’t encounter men in teaching roles until they reach middle or high school\, and they’re even less likely to encounter black men. With only 30% of our teachers identifying as men- Black men only take 2% percent of the teacher workforce.\n\nResearch highlights thatBlack men in education reduce the probability of Black boys dropping out of school by about 39 percent. Moreover\, studies show having at least oneBlack teacher in the classroom positively impacts not only Black and Brown children\, but all children. \n\nJoin us on February 22\, at 7pm - 8pm EST\, as we discuss the importance\, impact\, and opportunities for Black men to lead in education. \n\nWhen students experience diverse representation in their lessons\, books\, AND teachers\, we contribute to a more just and equitable society!
