He specializes in research focused around autonomous and intelligent system design\, testing\, and analysis of self-driving vehicles and small uncrewed aerial systems. Throughout the last ten years\, his academic research has been supported by over $15 million in funding from various federal and state agencies such as the National Science Foundation\, US Air Force\, US Army\, Ohio Federal Research Network\, Department of Energy\, the US Department of Transportation\, and the Ohio Department of Transportation. His lab ownsand operates a fully self-driving Chrysler Pacific used to test new autonomy\, data processing methods\, and collect data on rural road conditions with approval from the Ohio state government. She studied at Juilliard and at University of Alabama at Birmingham and has performed at major venues across the US\, France\, Italy\, Russia\, Ukraine\, South Korea\, and Japan. As an SMTD student\, Sasha won the graduate Concerto Competition\, became an NPR Young Artist-in-Residence\, received top prizes in several international competitions\, and performed with the Calgary and Dayton Philharmonic Orchestras\, the Huntsvilleand Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestras\, and the University Philharmonia Orchestra. A passionate educator\, Sasha has given over 100 outreach performances and guest taught at MIT\, Lee University\, and Bowling Green State University. This fall\, Sasha joins the faculty of Utah State University as assistant professor of piano.
