DESCRIPTION:Louis Becker is Design Director and Principal Partner at Henning Larsen Architects. He has been part of the management team since 1998 and is responsible for the company's activities on the global market. He has been one of the driving forces behind a number of large Danish and international projects - from significant building icons to complex masterplans.In 2008\, Louis was appointed Adjunct Professor at the Department of Architecture and Design at Aalborg University. In 2011\, he was awarded the Eckersberg Medal by the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts as a special recognition of his extraordinary contribution in putting Danish architecture on the world map.\nLouis' broad international experience includes cultural\, educational and commercial buildings as well as masterplans in Scandinavia\, Europe\, the Middle East\, Africa and Asia. He has been responsible for a number of competition wins as well as architectural and managerial follow-up on the subsequent project phases. He is the driving force behind complex architectural and decision-making processes with multiple stakeholders.\nOwing to his profound experience with modern sustainable building both in conceptual and detailed phases\, Louis is an internationally acclaimed speaker and lecturer. He regularly gives lectures on sustainable architecture and the incorporation of culture in design processes. In addition\, he has been a jury member in several international competitions just as he is a member of several steering committees and advisory boards.

DESCRIPTION:Alexander Maksik is the author of three novels: You Deserve Nothing\; A Marker to Measure Drift\, which was named a New York Times Notable Book and a finalist for both the William Saroyan Prize and Le Prix du Meilleur Livre Étranger\; and the forthcoming Shelter in Place\, due out in September. A contributing editor at Condé Nast Traveler\, his writing has appeared\, or is forthcoming\, in Best American Nonrequired Reading\, Harper’s\, Tin House\, Harvard Review\, The New York Times Book Review\, The New York Times Magazine\, The Atlantic\, Salon and Narrative Magazine\, among other publications. Maksik is the recipient of a 2015 Pushcart Prize\, as well as fellowships from the Truman Capote Literary Trust and The Corporation of Yaddo. He is the co-artistic director of the Can Cab Literary Residence in Catalonia\, Spain and his work has been translated into more than a dozen languages.
