SUMMARY:Well-being:Mindfulness Based Cognitive Group Therapy - Fall 2022
DESCRIPTION:Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy is an eight-week program designed to teach people how to live more mindfully\, even in the face of challenges like depression and anxiety. The course teaches a blend of cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness techniques as a way to interrupt unhelpful thinking patterns and increase non-judgmental awareness of the present moment. \n\nAs a result of this course\, you can expect an increase in self-compassion and less reactivity in challenging situations. Participants report feeling more connected to themselves and more satisfied in relationships with others.\n\nProspective participants should call the Psych Clinic at (734) 764-3471 to schedule a virtual individual screening visit. This preliminary screening will allow you to work with a clinician to ensure that the group is right for you.
