DESCRIPTION:Featuring a dynamic lineup of comedians who bring their diverse Latin American backgrounds – and quick wit – to the stage. Enjoy performances by several Michigan-based or born talent including Hilary Jimenez\, Esteban Touma\, Camila Ballario\, Johanna Medranda\, and Julianna Loera-Wiggins.\n\nHILARY JIMENEZ is a New York based comedian\, writer\, and Limited Too Fitting Room Survivor\, whose comedy style is crossing the border and the line - in designer shoes of course. Her comedy gives loud\, abrasive voice to the female\, chicana experience\, with a self-deprecating wit and unapologetic delivery that makes her mother deeply uncomfortable.\n\nESTEBAN TOUMA: Part Palestinian/part Latino immigrant from Ecuador\, Touma is a teacher\, writer and comedian adjusting to life in the US. His comedy has been featured on Comedy Central\, NPR\, Sirius XM\, and The Moth\, and has opened for comics such as Judd Apatow\, Mark Normand\, Rory Scovel\, Chris Redd\, among others.\n\nCAMILA BALLARIO is an Argentinean-born\, Ann Arbor-based comedian and award-winning singer whose quirky wit and musical charm have entertained audiences across the Midwest.\n\nJOHANNA MEDRANDA is a bold Peruvian American stand-up comedian\, producer\, and podcast host\, celebrated for her fearless\, high-energy comedy.\n\nJULIANNA LOERA-WIGGINS is a PhD student by day and stand-up comedian by night\, known for her punchy storytelling and performances at the Latina Comedy Festival and across Michigan’s thriving comedy scene.\n\nPresented by the Center for World Performance Studies with support from the U-M Department of American Culture and Latina/o Studies Program.\n\n*If you are a person who requires an accommodation to participate in this event\, please contact the Center for World Performance Studies at cwps.information@umich.edu at least one week in advance of this event.
