SUMMARY:Workshop / Seminar:Twentieth Century Studies RIW: Interest Meeting and Introductions
DESCRIPTION:How do we study the twentieth century today? Moreover\, in what ways might we balance the globalization of the 20th century and simultaneously attend to the historical specificity of certain places? How do we see cultural figures and objects working through their milieu? The Twentieth Century Studies Rackham Interdisciplinary Workshop is a new workshop this year\, and we plan to provide an opportunity for students studying the twentieth century to collaborate and learn from one another not only within our areas of study\, but also across departments.\nJoin us  for our first meeting in Angell Hall 3241 to think through these questions in a retreat-styled event. We will collaboratively establish the goals of the RIW for the year and discuss how we can help participating students with those goals\, including taking suggestions for the events for the year. Let us know if you would like to be added to our listserv! Contact Kabelo Sandile Motsoeneng (kmotsoen@umich.edu) and Maria Rossini (mrossini@umich.edu) for more information about the RIW.
