DESCRIPTION:The U-M Carpentries group will offer its next coding workshop on Monday and Tuesday\, December 16-17. This workshop is targeted for learners with little to no prior experience with coding\, or for experienced programmers seeking a refresher on fundamental concepts. We will cover some basic topics in research computing\, including:\n\nR for plotting\nThe Unix shell\nIntro to git and GitHub\nR for data analysis\nWriting reports with R Markdown\n\nThe workshop will be held on the Ann Arbor campus\; you will receive the specific location by email after completing the pre-workshop software installation. DESCRIPTION:Hoshea Love is 85 years old. Born in San Francisco and raised in Southern California\, Love has traveled without bounds across the United States\, getting an education formally and spiritually. He holds degrees in fine art\, metaphysical science\, and biology (specializing in sustainable living) and is licensed in metaphysical science and traditional ministry.\n\nLove’s colorful\, abstract photographs are inspired by nature and the nature of things\, taking inventory of the immense beauty that surrounds us and guides us in our searching.\n\nLove’s work has been exhibited at the Ellen Kayrod Gallery\, Detroit\, and the U-M Museum of Art. He is a former artist-in-residence at The Heidelberg Project in Detroit.
