DESCRIPTION:You must register at this link: https://www.pnnl.gov/projects/arms-control-course\n\nPacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) is hosting a week-long course for undergraduate and graduate students interestedin learning about the core technical\, legal\, and policy concepts associated with nuclear arms control. The course will introduce students of diverse backgrounds to current and future challenges related to nuclear arms control\, including treaty implementation\, strategic stability\, verification technologies\, and related topics. This opportunity is made availableas part of the National Nuclear Security Administration’s Office of Nuclear Verification’s Next Generation Arms Control Experts (NextGen ACE) initiative.\n\nEvent details:\n\nWho: Currently matriculated (or recently graduated within the past year) undergraduate\, graduate\, and doctoral students of all disciplines. Students should be security clearance eligible (i.e.\, U.S. citizens) and have an interest in nuclear arms control as a possible future career path.\n\nWhat: 5-day course on nuclear arms control\,with a combination of lectures\, exercises\, hands-on technical demonstrations\, and tours.\n\nWhen: July 24-28\, 2023.\n\nWhere: Hosted at the Richland campus of PNNL in Washington State.\n\nWhy: To cultivate the next generation of arms control experts by fostering engagement with professionals who will offer career perspectives and advice while providing a holisticintroduction to the field.
