DESCRIPTION:This is a virtual information and Q&A session for anyone thinking about applying for the Anti-Racist Digital Research Institute (due December 20th\, 2024). You can come and learn more about the institute\, the application process\, and ask any questions you might have. For example\, are you not sure if your project idea is a good match? Come talk with one of our staff members and get some feedback. No need to register in advance\, just show up. \n\n*Program details*\nThe Anti-Racist Digital Research Institute is a mini-grant program and summer institute to help a cohort of up to 6 University of Michigan scholars or teams take an idea for a project and develop a proposal and project plan.\nAwardees will gain a deeper understanding of anti-racist digital research methods and develop a learning community of anti-racist digital researchers and practitioners. Throughout the institute\, you’ll work with peers and digital scholarship technical and methodology experts to develop an ethical\, sustainable\, and justice-oriented digital project proposal and plan.\n\n*Institute structure*\nThe institute will take place from May through July 2025. Modules of the curriculum and other activities will be spread out over 12 weeks\, with an average of 1 to 2 events per week. We will support both in-person and remote participation.\n\nThe institute will consist of:\n - A 2-day institute kick-off in May.\n - 5 sessions (hybrid/remote) with curriculum modules over the course of the institute.\n - Opportunities for engagement with cohort peers and project support staff once per week.\nWe expect the time commitment to be 1 day per week from May to July after the initial 2-day kick-off.\n\n*Who is eligible*\nThe institute is open to University of Michigan faculty (tenure track\, clinical faculty\, lecturers\, librarians\, archivists\, and curators)\, graduate students\, post-doctoral researchers\, and staff from any U-M campus in the fields of humanities\, arts\, and the humanistic social sciences.\n\nMore information can be found at the website: https://www.lib.umich.edu/research-and-scholarship/awards-and-grants/anti-racist-digital-research-institute
