Earn a total of 2 credits for taking a semester-long pre-departure course on intercultural learning and conducting fieldwork abroad for 3-4 weeks during spring or summer.\n\nGet involved with local communities and projects addressing pressing social issues globally and grow your cross-cultural skills and learn from experience abroad.

DESCRIPTION:You're invited to the launch of the 2025 Hopwood Awards writing contests!\n\n- Listen to flash readings from a sample of 2024 Hopwood winners—fiction writers and poets\, graduates and undergraduates.\n- Learn more about the contests (as well as this year's updated rules and guidelines) from Hopwood Program Manager Rebecca Manery\n- Enjoy light refreshments\n\nSince 1931\, the Hopwood Awards Program has given almost 5\,000 awards to approximately 3\,300 writers\, for a total of $5\,936\,635 in prize winnings (and growing). The Hopwood Awards Program has been credited with launching many student writers' careers in the arts\, and in attracting already-talented writers to attend the University of Michigan. All University of Michigan students are invited and eligible!
