SUMMARY:Lecture / Discussion:The Open Questions Series
DESCRIPTION:The Open Questions Panel Series seeks to foster meaningful dialogue about (moderately) controversial topics relevant to the University of Michigan and to the general public. In a time of deep polarization\, the panels are designed to support real dialogue and to encourage the respectful\, open exchange of ideas. A panel is planned for each month of the 2026-27 academic year\, from September through April. (Most events will occur on Thursdays in the late afternoon.) The series is hosted by the Faculty Senate Office and SACUA\, in collaboration with the UM Ann Arbor chapter of the American Association of University Professors\, Dialogue Michigan\, the UM chapter of the Heterodox Academy\, and Rackham Graduate School.

(https://myumi.ch/9JprE)  See an original copy of the iconic\, century-old “Down in Ann Arbor Town” map alongside some of our favorite maps by women cartographers and a selection of maps showing how campus has been mapped over time.\n\nJoin us (on the 2nd floor of Hatcher) for Third Thursdays at the Library\, a themed monthly open house where we share materials from our collections. While you’re here\, pick up a passport and collect a stamp from each of the four Third Thursday Open Houses — Asia Library\, Clark Library\, International Studies\, and Special Collections Research Center — to win a poster.
