Celebrate Democracy Week at U-M by joining the Inter-university Consortium for Social and Political Research (ICPSR) for a Data Preservation Hackathon. Participants will explore:\n\n1. The value of government data and the role it plays in society\n2. The difference between making data open and preserving it for long-term access\n3. Current efforts to safeguard valuable government data\n\nThrough a guided\, hands-on activity\, attendees will contribute to data preservation efforts and leave with concrete next steps for preserving and advocating for high-quality government data.\n\nNo prior experience is required\, but you must bring a laptop to fully participate in the event.\n\nThis in-person event is open to U-M students\, faculty\, and staff.
