SUMMARY:Lecture / Discussion:The DOJ and Threats to the Press
DESCRIPTION:In July\, the Department of Justice subpoenaed several New York Times reporters after they reported on security concerns about a Boeing 747 the Qatari government gave to President Trump. The DOJ later withdrew the subpoenas after a federal judge questioned its approach.\n\nJoin Eric Schmitt of The New York Times and Gabe Rottman of the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press for a conversation about government pressure on journalists and why the public should care about threats to journalists reporting on those in power.
