DESCRIPTION:First-year and undeclared second-year students can meet with our students\, faculty\, and student organizations. See what you can research with us in the hall of poster presentations. If ready\, students will also be allowed to declare their Engineering Physics or Nuclear Engineering & Radiological Sciences major. Free food and swag will be provided!\n\nNERS Major\nWe are the #1 nuclear engineering program in the country\, and we're looking for students with strong physics and math skills\, and an interest in developing sustainable energy solutions\, nuclear weapons detection\, using the world's most powerful lasers\, and more. \n\nEngineering Physics Major\nNERS also oversees the Engineering Physics program. The program lets students define their own curriculum and carry out research in their focus areas. It's a good fit for motivated students who are drawn to a specific field of interest\, to define their own research\, and want a strong physics background.\n\nNERS Minor\nStudents in other majors can complement their degree with a minor in Nuclear Engineering and Radiological Sciences. The minor provides a foundation in nuclear science and technology while allowing students to explore applications in areas such as energy\, radiation\, materials\, medicine\, national security\, and more.

DESCRIPTION:It's time for the annual Cook Scholars Pizza Party on Tuesday\, September 29\, 4:30-6:30pm. We'll meet all new and returning students at Pizza House on Church Street\, just a short walk from the Diag on Central Campus. This event is sponsored by the Cook Family Foundation\, who will be in attendance\, as well as U-M Cook Scholars. Also present will be the Shiawassee Students of U-M student organization.
