DESCRIPTION:Having diverse individuals on a team or in an organization does not make that space automatically inclusive. Inclusive leaders create environments where a diverse group of individuals can thrive. In this interactive workshop\, we will discuss traits and practices of inclusive leaders and why it matters to create an environment in which all employees/members have a seat at the table\, where everyone feels heard and included for their unique contributions.By the end of this workshop participants will: Discuss Deloitte’s 6 Signature Traits of Inclusive LeadersUnderstand how cognizance of bias is essential to becoming an inclusive leaderGain resources that can be utilized to improve your traits as an inclusive leader\nThis workshop fulfills the connecting across difference/creating inclusive spaces requirement for Rackham’s DEI certificate program.\nThis workshop is designed for University of Michigan master's students\, doctoral students\, and postdoctoral fellows. DESCRIPTION:\nIn this discussion\, which formerly focused on First Amendment Title Six\, Associate General Counselor Jack Bernard will talk about how the First Amendment affects public institutions and how they navigate obligations to address discrimination while limited by free speech protections.
