SUMMARY:Lecture / Discussion:IOE 101: Heavy is the Head: Balancing Ambition\, Purpose\, and Service
DESCRIPTION:About the speaker: Jhawan Davis\, a proud Detroiter\, brings a deep-rooted Michigan spirit to his diverse career journey. Born and raised on the west side of Detroit\, he graduated from Cass Technical High School and pursued Industrial and Operations Engineering at the University of Michigan. After graduation\, Jhawan embarked on a dynamic career in operations management\, with roles at industry leaders like Danaher Corporation and Regal Rexnord Corporation. He later returned to Michigan to serve as a Continuous Improvement Specialist with the University of Michigan Health. In addition to his career\, Jhawan is a passionate “serial hobbyist\,” currently building an educational nonprofit\, co-founding a mixology company with his wife\, and pursuing an MBA at the Ross School of Business. Through all his endeavors\, Jhawan strives to honor his faith and commitment to justice\, seeking to be a servant of YHWH by embodying righteousness and doing good.\n\n\nAbstract: In this session\, Jhawan will challenge students to rethink traditional notions of success by exploring the balance between career\, passion\, and purpose.
