DESCRIPTION:Explore the ancient world through the lens of sustainability with our “Reducing\, Reusing\, and Recycling” tour at the Kelsey Museum. Discover how Mediterranean cultures repurposed everyday items—turning mudbricks into game boards\, oil lamps into dice containers\, and pottery into “scrap paper\,” among other creative solutions. Each artifact tells a story of ingenuity\, demonstrating the resourceful ways in which ancient people gave new lives to broken or obsolete objects.\n\nThis program is being presented as part of the College of LSA’s Year of Sustainability\, an initiative dedicated to addressing the climate crisis and promoting new strategies that enhance U-M’s commitment to sustainability. DESCRIPTION:Join the Sanger Leadership Center for the latest Leadership Dialogues event\, where Michigan Ross alumni André Branch\, MBA ‘99\, SVP and GM of MAC Cosmetics\, and Jamie (Epstein) Rosen\, BBA ‘09\, former Director of Entertainment and Brand Marketing at Hasbro will be interviewed by Sue Ashford\, Michael and Sue Jandernoa Professor in Management and Organizations at Michigan Ross. \n\nAs seasoned leaders\, Branch and Rosen have both tackled personal leadership development journeys\, leading through crisis\, and leading brand growth. As they share the many leadership lessons they’ve learned\, Ashford will relate the conversation back to her award-winning research on how individuals can utilize a skill called flexing to tackle challenges and continually grow. Ashford’s research helps leaders be maximally effective in their work settings\, with an emphasis on self-leadership\, proactivity\, change from below\, and leadership and its development. \n\nAbout the Presenters\nAndré Branch is currently SVP and GM\, MAC North America at Estée Lauder Companies (ELC). Prior to joining ELC\, he worked at a number of world class CPG companies\, including Kraft Foods\, Diageo\, and L’Oréal. André holds a BA in Economics from the University of Maryland and an MBA ‘99 from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business.\n\nJamie (Epstein) Rosen\, former Director of Entertainment Brand Marketing - North America at Entertainment One/Hasbro\, brings her extensive experience leading marketing and live events teams across diverse industries—from finance and beauty to entertainment. With a career spanning engagements with Walmart\, Turner Broadcasting\, HBO\, Disney\, Nickelodeon and more\, Jamie’s expertise in media communications\, market research\, brand management\, etc. is unparalleled. Jamie holds a BBA ‘09 from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business. \n\nSue Ashford is an award-winning scholar and professor. She is the Michael and Susan Jandernoa Professorship in Management and Organizations at the Ross School of Business\, University of Michigan. Ashford currently teaches in the executive and online MBA programs as well as at Michigan Ross Executive Education. She has served in many leadership roles at Ross\, including former senior associate dean. As a distinguished scholar and recipient of multiple awards\, including the inaugural visionary circle research grant of 2024\, Sue’s work has been featured in top academic journals and influential media outlets.
