DESCRIPTION:Registration on Sessions is mandatory.\nhttps://sessions.studentlife.umich.edu/track/event/17552\n\nPuentes' Annual Latine Research Week Conference scheduled for February 24-27\, 2025 in the Rackham Graduate School. Puentes is a graduate student organization that aims to center the experiences and needs of Latine graduate students across schools and disciplines at the University of Michigan. In pursuit of this goal\, Puentes annually hosts Latine Research Week (LRW). LRW is a conference that celebrates the scholarship of Latinx students\, researchers\, and faculty at U-M\, and uplifts research relevant to Latine communities. LRW provides a unique\, interdisciplinary space where scholars across campus can share their research and build new connections.\n\nWe encourage members of our community to engage in this program in a variety of ways. \n\n(1) Nominate Someone for an Award: Puentes will uplift faculty\, staff\, and students with various Latine Research Week awards showcasing excellence in research\, mentorship\, teaching\, and/or commitment to enacting the conference theme raices y presencia. Join us for Transfer Transitions: Getting Involved in Research\, an event featuring a presentation from the LSA Opportunity Hub coaches and the LSA Transfer Student Ambassadors. The presentation will cover the many different ways to get involved in research at UM\, and the Transfer Student Ambassadors will share about research they've done on campus and their tips & tricks for getting started. There will also be time to mingle & ask questions after the presentations.\n\nWhile this event is geared toward new transfer students\, all U-M transfer students are welcome and encouraged to attend.
