SUMMARY:Workshop / Seminar:[DEICP] We're Biased\, So Now What? Mitigating and Personalizing Unconscious Bias
DESCRIPTION:Many of us are committed to diversity\, equity\, and inclusion and accept the extensive evidence from scholarly studies in psychology and neuroscience demonstrating that we all have unconscious biases that affect our interactions with others. The question then becomes\, how do we not only become aware of our biases\, but also work to overcome them?\n\n\nLearning Objectives:\nGain knowledge of societal biases and self-awareness of one's unconscious biases\nDevelop strategies to advocate for inclusion in light of unconscious bias\nThis workshop is designed for University of Michigan master's students\, doctoral students\, and postdoctoral fellows. For faculty and staff\, please contact rackhampdeworkshops@umich.edu to see if we can accommodate your attendance.
