DESCRIPTION:Are you curious about what kind of jobs and opportunities are available to you after graduation equipped with and related to skills from QMSS courses & our minor? Join us for a virtual QMSS Alumni Panel event to learn more!!\n\nOur panelists are recent QMSS minor graduates from a wide range of undergraduate majors and representing early career opportunities in various sectors. Our confirmed panelists include:\n\n- 2 Econ/QMSS alumni - one working at BlackRock as an Aladdin Client Business Analyst (New York\, NY) and one working at Bloomberg as a Fixed Income Specialist (New York\, NY)\n- A Psychology/QMSS alum working at Mercer as a Senior Strategy Analyst\, Global Products (Chicago\, IL)\n- A Sport Management/QMSS alum working with the Minnesota Vikings as a Digital Marketing & Media Associate (Minneapolis\, MN)\n- A Psychology/QMSS alum finishing up a Master's degree in Health Informatics at U-M (Ann Arbor\, MI)\n- A Biology/QMSS alum working at U-M's Institute for Social Research as a Research Associate (Ann Arbor\, MI)\n- A Political Science/QMSS alum working at Main Street America as an Associate Research Analyst (Chicago\, IL)\n- A BCN/QMSS alum working at Epic as a Technical Solutions Engineer (Verona\, WI)\n- more to come!\n\nDuring the event\, one of our QMSS Peer Mentors will moderate questions for the panelists tailored towards what their application\, recruitment\, and hiring process was like\, what their day-to-day tasks are in their new jobs\, what skills and tools they are using or building on from U-M and QMSS coursework\, what they've learned about their respective industries\, and where they hope their career takes them into the future. Afterwards\, we will have breakout room opportunities to more personally connect with individual panelists and ask them the nitty gritty questions that have been on your mind.\n\nHopefully\, you will learn more about various data-related career paths and opportunities available to you as a QMSS graduate and get answers to the questions you've been dying to ask in a low-risk setting! This is a great event for students in any year and at any stage in the job hunting process.\n\nOpen to all students!

SUMMARY:Livestream / Virtual:Food Literacy for All
DESCRIPTION:Since 2017\, the University of Michigan Sustainable Food Systems Initiative (SFSI) has hosted a unique community-academic partnership course titled Food Literacy for All each winter semester. Structured as a virtual lecture series\, Food Literacy for All features different guest speakers each Tuesday evening (6:30-8pm EST) to address diverse challenges and opportunities of both domestic and global food systems. The course aims to ignite new conversations and deepen existing commitments to building more equitable\, health-promoting\, and ecologically sustainable food systems.
