DESCRIPTION:Women were first admitted to the University of Michigan in 1870.  This exhibit at the Bentley Historical Library tells the story of earlier\, unsuccessful attempts by women to enter U-M\, the process by which the Regents eventually reached the decision resulting in the admission of women\, and experiences of some of the first women to matriculate at the University.
