SUMMARY:Workshop / Seminar:Introduction to Iwasawa Theory
DESCRIPTION:Iwasawa theory is a very rich area of number theory with many connections to other areas of number theory such as special values of L-functions\, automorphic forms\, and p-adic Hodge theory. In this talk\, I will give an overview of the original approach to Iwasawa theory\, which studies the growth of class numbers in certain infinite degree algebraic extensions of number fields.
