SUMMARY:Lecture / Discussion:Thiago Gonçalves-Souza Research Talk
DESCRIPTION:Postdoc Thiago Gonçalves-Souza will be coming in to talk about his work connecting community ecology with patterns of biodiversity and ecosystem function. Thiago is the head of Postdoc Development at the Institute for Global Change Biology (IGCB)\, and will also speak to the role of research institutes like the IGCB here at Umich. Thiago is doing really exciting work and recently had a paper on habitat fragmentation published in Nature (Species turnover does not rescue biodiversity in fragmented landscapes)! This is a great chance to learn about postdoctoral research\, the role of research institutes\, and also just connect with people who are doing leading research in ecology and evolutionary biology!
