DESCRIPTION:Molecular compartmentalization is vital for cellular physiology. For instance\, proteins for intercellular adhesion and communication are localized to the cell surface while many energy-producing enzymes stay in the mitochondrion. High-resolution\, proteome-wide mapping of protein localization is of core importance for understanding cellular organization and processes. \n\nIn this talk\, Jiefu Li\, Ph.D.\, will describe an end-to-end pipeline for in situ cell-surface proteomics\, from chemical and transgenic tools to a user-friendly platform for data analysis\, and present how in situ cell-surface proteomics of developing brains discovers “outside-the-box” regulators of neuronal wiring.
