Every Tuesday\, we have CommuniTea. Launched this year\, CommuniTEA is a weekly tea gathering for students\, staff and faculty to build community and share information about what they are experiencing during the week. SUMMARY:Workshop / Seminar:Create Accessible Digital Documents
DESCRIPTION:As we shift from print to digital documents in the workplace\, it's important to ensure readers and contributors can actually access the content. If document users include individuals who are color blind\, use assistive technologies\, or process information differently\, will they be able to effectively engage with the content? \n\nThis workshop will focus on best practices for creating digital documents that are more user-friendly and accessible. In addition to demonstrations\, there will be opportunities to apply what you are learning in real time. \n\nParticipants will learn about: \n1. The benefit of accessible documents and how specific features support diverse users.\n2. How to build more accessible documents in Microsoft Word and Google Docs.\n3. Tools to assist with document accessibility.\n4. Resources to deepen knowledge on document accessibility.\n\nAudience:\nThis is a beginner-level workshop open to any LSA employee\, including our student employees. LSA employees receive priority access\, so while external guests are welcome to register they will be waitlisted and moved off the waitlist as space allows.

SUMMARY:Workshop / Seminar:EEB Tuesday Lunch Seminar with Abby Kimmitt\, EEB Postdoctoral Fellow\, Winger Lab
DESCRIPTION:This event is part of our ongoing Tuesday lunch seminar series!\n\nAbout: Seasonal migration is a behavioral adaptation that allows animals to persist in seasonal environments. In this talk\, Kimmitt will explore (1) how differences in migratory behavior shape reproductive timing and the underlying physiology and (2) how migratory behavior relates to population genetic structure across a species range. They will integrate tools from molecular biology\, neuroendocrinology\, behavioral ecology\, and evolutionary biology to address the proximate drivers and evolutionary consequences of this seasonal adaptation.
