SUMMARY:Lecture / Discussion:HET Brown Bag Seminar | Quantum Many-body Bootstrap
DESCRIPTION:Determining the long-range phase of matter from its microscopic description has long been one of the central topics in physics. Simple microscopic systems often become strongly coupled at long range where we usually rely on clever approximations. Bootstrap is an alternative approach that uses positivity and equations of motion to make predictions in quantum many-body systems without making approximations. In this talk\, I will show my recent work on using bootstrap to compute the ground state energy\, local observables and gaps of a quantum many-body system in the thermodynamic limit with rigorous error bars.

SUMMARY:Presentation:Innovation Insights: An XR Keynote with Jamie Voris
DESCRIPTION:Join the Center for Academic Innovation for an engaging Innovation Insights Keynote presented by Jamie Voris\, the Chief Technology Officer at The Walt Disney Studios. In this talk\, Voris will explore how extended reality (XR) and other emerging technologies could influence the future of storytelling and entertainment. He’ll give us a look into how his teams build immersive experiences at Disney for new platforms like the Apple Vision Pro and will share his perspective on how transformative these technologies will be in areas like education and beyond.\n\n\n*Innovation Insights*\nThe Center for Academic Innovation brings together people who want to transform education\, share knowledge\, and increase learner success by hosting inspiring talks\, collaborative problem-solving workshops\, and discussions on the latest in educational research and practice. The Innovation Insights series features a diverse lineup of topics\, delivered by leaders in academia and private industry\, united by the common goals of delivering insights into how to further academic innovation and build the future of education.\n\n*This event series will not be live-streamed or recorded. This decision reflects both agreements with speakers and the desire to encourage engagement during and around the event.*\n\n\n*About Jamie Voris*\nAs Chief Technology Officer for The Walt Disney Studios\, Jamie is responsible for the oversight and strategic leadership of the technology that supports the company’s content creation businesses. In addition\, Jamie also leads a Research and Innovation organization that spans from StudioLAB (advanced development through partnerships with corporations like Microsoft\, BMW\, and Accenture) to Disney Research Studios (an academic-focused long-range research partnership based in Zurich\, Switzerland).
