SUMMARY:Exhibition:Angkor Complex: Cultural Heritage and Post-Genocide Memory in Cambodia.
DESCRIPTION:Care in Uncertain Times\n \nAs crises of public health\, economic instability\, authoritarian regimes\, racial injustice\, and climate change spread around the globe\, millions are experiencing distress\, conflict\, uncertainty\, and vulnerability. This troubling combination of experiences is nothing new for Cambodians. Between 1975-1979\, when the Khmer Rouge ruled Cambodia\, about a quarter of the country’s populations died of infectious diseases\, weapon wounds\, and malnutrition.\n \nThis exhibition brings together more than 80 works of art spanning a millennium to present how the visual culture of Cambodia and its diaspora has evolved in the face of cultural upheaval. Showcasing works from worldwide collections\, including those from some of the foremost members of the Cambodian contemporary art scene\, Angkor Complex allows viewers to encounter the still-fresh scars of a genocide and critically appreciate the strategies evolved to nurture resilience in trying times.\n\nLead support for this exhibition is provided by the U-M Office of the Provost\, U-M Office of the President\, National Endowment for the Arts\, Michigan Arts and Culture Council\, Eleanor Noyes Crumpacker Endowment Fund\, and U-M Ross School of Business.\n

SUMMARY:Workshop / Seminar:Neurodiversity in the Workplace - Part 2
DESCRIPTION:Neurodiversity is the new hot topic in the realm of disability inclusion and accessibility—and with good reason. A significant percentage of people are now recognized as having neurotypes that are not well supported by societal norms and our collective understanding of how to communicate across and support neurodiversity is still developing. Fortunately researchers\, educators\, and advocates who identify as neurodivergent are contributing to a growing body of best practices. Join the LSA Faculty & Staff Disability Navigators to learn about neurodiversity and how we can all start creating more neuroinclusive workplaces.\n\nIn Neurodiversity in the Workplace: Part 2\, participants will:\n\n1. Learn about communication best practices between neurotypes.\n\n2. Explore practical examples of how to foster neuroinclusive workplaces\, including workspace design\, meeting facilitation\, and supervision strategies.\n\n3. Exchange advice with fellow participants and generate a plan to start applying neuroinclusive practices right away.\n\n4. Obtain a reference guide to implementing best practices in your workplace.\n\nAudience: This is a beginner-level workshop open to any LSA employee\, including our student employees. LSA employees receive priority access\, so while external guests are welcome to register they will be waitlisted and moved off the waitlist as space allows.
