SUMMARY:Careers / Jobs:Decode Your Internship Search: Internship Search Strategies from Career Coaches\, Alums\, and Student Success Stories
DESCRIPTION:Whether you have applied to internships or jobs before or are just getting started\, this event is helpful in determining the preparation\, search\, and application process of locating an internship or job! \n\n\nImmediately following the workshop portion\, engage in dialogue with our alum and industry student ambassadors in an open and relaxed informational interview session. Come ask Aidan Sova\, Regional Product Lead at Google\, and your fellow peers questions about their experiences with internships\, early career navigation\, and career exploration while an undergraduate. Join us in this unique no-pressure event to gain further insights from our guests about their early career journeys!\n\n3pm - 3:45pm: Internship search workshop led by Hub Coaches.\n\n3:45pm - 4pm: Break.\n\n4pm-5pm: LSA Alum Aidan Sova will join our Opportunity Hub Coaches to provide their internship search experience and tips!\n\nAidan Sova is a Regional Product Lead at Google. Aidan is also the Trustee and Vice-President of the Ann Arbor District Library\, making him the youngest-ever Black person elected to any office in city history. Currently\, he also is an Emerging Leaders Council Member for the Legal Services Corporation. \n\n\nAttend this event to: \n\n Learn how you can prepare before your internship search. (identifying goals\, values\, must-haves)\n Learn where to search for opportunities. (U-M affiliated sites and beyond)\n Learn what application materials may be required for internships. (résumé /CV/cover letters)\n Learn how the Hub could assist you with your application materials.\n Network with a Michigan alum and your fellow peers.\n Learn more about working at Google.\n Gain insight on the importance of undergraduate internships\, what to expect from internships\, and how to obtain them. \n\n\nAttending both the workshop portion and dialogue sessions is highly encouraged!\n\nNote: For those attending in-person as part of this hybrid workshop\, seating is first come first served. SUMMARY:Livestream / Virtual:ICPSR Summer Program: For the Love of Research Methods!
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a webinar about the 2026 ICPSR Summer Program in Quantitative Methods. Since 1963\, the ICPSR Summer Program in Quantitative Methods has provided rigorous\, comprehensible training in statistics\, quantitative and qualitative methods\, and data analysis. Our commitment to providing premier instruction in courses that are affordable and enjoyable has inspired generations of researchers to call the ICPSR Summer Program their home for learning statistics! Visit www.icpsr.umich.edu/sumprog to learn more about the ICPSR Summer Program! \n\nThis webinar is part of the 2026 ICPSR Data Fair @ Love Data Week. For more information\, please visit myumi.ch/ICPSRLoveDataWeek.\n\nThis event is free and open to the public. The webinar will be recorded\, and the recording\, along with the slides (when available)\, will be made available in the 2026 Love Data Week YouTube playlist at https://myumi.ch/y1jm8.

SUMMARY:Workshop / Seminar:Resonance Chains for Hyperbolic Surfaces with Large Funnels via Dynamical Zeta Functions
DESCRIPTION:In this talk\, I will quantitatively relate the resonance sets of certain hyperbolic surfaces to the resonance sets of certain metric graphs via the spine graph construction. Resonance sets of metric graphs are known to contain structures known as ‘resonance chains’\, and so as a corollary I will show the existence of approximate resonance chains in resonance sets of these surfaces as specific geometric parameters become large. In the language of zeta functions\, these results can be restated in terms of the Selberg zeta functions of these surfaces degenerating to polynomials under an asymptotic limit.

SUMMARY:Other:Bike Repair Hours
DESCRIPTION:Does your bike need a tune-up? Need help fixing a flat or getting your gears to shift smoothly? \nCome to the FREE Wolverines on Wheels Bike Repair Hours on Wednesdays from 4-6p and Fridays from 3:30-5p.\nSign up for a 30-minute slot and your bike to the Duderstadt Fabrication Underground (B430-Lower Level) for peer-to-peer bike repair and maintenance. Our volunteers can help you diagnosis bike problems\, guide you through repairs\, and provide the tools & materials needed to get you back to riding. \nThis is NOT a drop-off service: ALL participants are expected to stay and participate in repairs to learn basic bike maintenance with the support of our volunteers. Expect to get your hands dirty and leave feeling more confident in your skills!\nOnly one bike per participant. You may sign up for multiple slots in a row but please be mindful of sharing the opportunity with other campus riders. Walk-ins are welcome but come secondary to sign-ups. \nIf you are interested in becoming a volunteer for our new program\, please email wolverinesonwheels-admin@umich.edu\nThe Duderstadt Fabrication Underground's Bike Repair rack is available for use during all operation hours (M-F 12-6p). WoW Volunteers will only be there at our dedicated support hours with additional materials (tire patches\, grease\, etc). \nhttps://calendly.com/wolverinesonwheels-admin-umich/30min
