DESCRIPTION:In order to have meaningful\, productive conversations about diversity\, equity\, and inclusion\, we must start with a common language. This session will provide an introduction to key terminology as well as the categories and labels we use to describe others and ourselves. We will also examine how our identities shape the way we enter the world and our interactions with each other. Emphasis will be placed on using our identities to help us understand the identities and experiences of others.In this session\, participants will:\nIdentify the benefits of inclusive environments\nReview key terminology related to diversity\, equity\, and inclusion\nReflect on the origin of identities\, their intersectionality\, and their meanings \nUse our own identities as a window to understanding the identities of others to build more authentic\, empathic relationships\n\nAudience: This workshop is limited to LSA employees only\, which includes staff\, faculty\, and graduate and undergraduate student employees. External to LSA University employees may be considered if space is allowed. If you are outside LSA\, your registration may be removed without warning to accommodate LSA employees. DESCRIPTION:Adam Lenhart performs on the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Carillon\, an instrument of 60 bells with the lowest bell (bourdon) weighing 6 tons.\n\nThirty-minute recitals are performed on the Lurie Carillon every weekday that classes are in session. During these recitals\, visitors may take the elevator to level 2 to view the largest bells\, or to level 3 to see the carillonist performing. (Visitors subject to acrophobia are recommended to visit level 2 only.) An optional spiral stairway between levels 2 and 3 allows for up-close views of some of the largest bells.

DESCRIPTION:Trained mental health counselors are now available for drop-in conversations at different times and locations across campus\, including at Trotter\, the Spectrum Center\, South Quad\, the International Center\, and Bursley.\n\nThis informal\, confidential “office hours” style can be a great fit for students unsure about formal counseling\; for those with a specific\, time-limited concern they’d like to talk through\; or those seeking information on campus resources. Please note: this is not meant for crisis or emergency support.\n\n\"Let's Talk\" will run from January 20th 2025 to April 25th 2025.
