SUMMARY:Workshop / Seminar:Creative Curiosity Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Curiosity is a key component of social thriving -- when you’re curious about something different\, you’re more likely to enjoy it\, learn from it and reach for the truth about it\, rather than be afraid\, angry or misinformed about it. \n\nThe Social Cohesion Lab will offer a program focused on the value of curiosity\, and teaching participants to use media as a mechanism to flex their curiosity muscles. This program will include lunch\, a seminar\, and fun\, thought-provoking interactive activities. \n\nAs a production company first\, the Social Cohesion Lab's multimedia work has focused on having good conversations with a range of different people about all sorts of different topics\, ranging from the political to the personal. It makes the Lab feel good and it makes the people they’re interviewing feel good. It also makes the world better by offering up a chance for real connection with a wide cross-section of people. You can learn how to do this too\, and these skills will benefit you personally\, professionally\, and at a community level.\n\nAmericans of all stripes agree that something is not right in the way people are interacting with each other. Come try something different with the Social Cohesion Lab.\n\nIn addition to workshops\, Social Cohesion Lab produces video documentaries about engaging across ideological differences\, and runs a weekly nonpartisan written project which interviews everyday people about how they are doing.
