SUMMARY:Workshop / Seminar:DE Seminar: Non-uniqueness for the Navier-Stokes equations
DESCRIPTION:In this talk\, I will present an overview of recent developments on the non-uniqueness of weak solutions to the incompressible Navier–Stokes equations—a question that lies at the core of mathematical fluid dynamics. I will highlight the main ideas behind these constructions and discuss their implications for the classical notion of determinism in viscous flows. The second part of the talk will focus on the most recent advances achieved through convex integration\, which has emerged as a powerful framework for constructing non-unique and pathological solutions.

SUMMARY:Workshop / Seminar:EEB Thursday Seminar Series - The rapid decline of butterfly abundance and diversity in the United States
DESCRIPTION:Seminar Summary - Over the past two decades\, the United States has lost a quarter of butterflies. This includes loss of common species like monarchs and cabbage whites\, and rare species on the verge of extinction. We know this from data accumulated by thousands of individuals\, and not only scientists\, who have done tens of thousands of surveys and recorded millions of butterflies. Solutions to reverse declines are in our grasp\, but need to be acted on now.

SUMMARY:Workshop / Seminar:Student-Mentor Relationships: Communication
DESCRIPTION:Good communication is a key element of any relationship\, and a mentoring relationship is no exception. Our Student-Mentor Relationship workshops are designed with the student’s perspective in mind\, to increase your confidence in managing the relationship with your mentor. In the “Communication” workshop we will focus on developing strategies for effective communication\, such as how to receive constructive feedback and communicate across varied backgrounds\, disciplines\, and positions of power.\n\nThe workshops are open to any undergraduate student on campus.\nClick here to register on Sessions: https://myumi.ch/2r684
