SUMMARY:Workshop / Seminar:Make it Accessible: Library e-Resources
DESCRIPTION:The U-M Library and Disability Equity Office are partnering to offer an engaging session focused on library resources and digital accessibility. Designed for faculty\, instructional staff\, GSIs\, and digital accessibility specialists\, this session will explore how to identify\, access\, and share accessible versions of materials available through U-M Library collections. \n\nParticipants will gain practical guidance on using proxied catalog links\, linking to content correctly\, requesting materials not currently available in library collections\, and accessing services that support the creation of alternative formats for disability-related access needs. We’ll also discuss strategies for navigating more complex situations\, such as linking to catalog pages with multiple listed items or working with materials that have limited checkout availability. \n\nIn addition\, the session will highlight the Library’s ongoing efforts to improve the digital accessibility of U-M collections. Participants will leave with helpful reference resources\, practical next steps\, and an opportunity to ask questions during a dedicated Q&A.\n\nAmerican Sign Language (ASL) interpreting services and Communication Access Realtime Translation (CART) captioning services will be provided. If you need additional accommodations to participate in this webinar\, please email the ADA Coordinator at ADAcoordinator@umich.edu.
