DESCRIPTION:\n\nTalk: 9:30-11 a.m.\nWorkshop: 11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.\n\nExplore the connections between nature\, creativity and well-being through the living language of willow. Join artist and farmer Howard Peller\, U-M botanist and professor Selena Smith Ph.D.\, and invited Indigenous and campus voices for a conversation on willow’s cultural history\, ecological importance and role in fostering resilience and human well-being. \n\nThe event will also unveil the vision for the \"Living Willow Structures\" campus project\, followed by a hands-on willow weaving workshop where participants can experience the mindful\, restorative process of creating with this remarkable material.\n\nThis workshop is presented in conjunction with the University of Michigan Climate Week Initiative.\n\nPrior experience is not required. Free and open to the public.\nThe Talk and Workshop are separate events\, with limited space available - registration is required for each event you plan to attend.
