DESCRIPTION:Elections\n aren't just about what happens at the ballot box—they're about how \ncommunities build power\, hold leaders accountable\, and drive systemic \nchange from the ground up.\n\nJoin Semester in Detroit and the Michigan Community Scholars Program for our 3rd Annual Day in Detroit\, an immersive day trip to the city\, where we will connect directly with the organizers who are reshaping electoral and community politics. On this trip we'll move past campaign headlines to explore the actual tools\, strategies\, and relationships that drive social change and policy.\nThe day includes:Morning workshops w/local education justice coalition 482Forward and economic and housing justice organizers from Detroit ActionLunchtime Community Dialogue & Reflections at the U-M Detroit Center in MidtownHands-on Afternoon Excursion -- head to Greenfield Village at The Henry Ford to explore this collection of historic homes in\nDay in Detroit is open to all students. Free roundtrip transportation\, lunch\, and museum admission is provided for registrants. We tentatively expect to leave Ann Arbor at 9 a.m. and return at 6 p.m. Note: MCSP students may count this event for a PACS\, PBU\, or IRC event.\n
