SUMMARY:Performance:Suzanne Vega
DESCRIPTION:An intimate evening with a pioneer of alternative songwriting\n\nWidely regarded as one of the foremost songwriters of her generation\, Suzanne Vega emerged as a leading figure of the folk revival of the early 1980s when\, accompanying herself on acoustic guitar\, she sang what has been called contemporary folk or neo-folk songs of her own creation in Greenwich Village clubs. Her first gig came at age 12 with PeteSince the release of her self-titled\, critically acclaimed 1985 debut album\, she has been known for performances that convey deep emotion\, with NPR Music noting that she “has been making vital\, inventive music” throughout the course of her decades-long career. This is the first time we’ve hosted Suzanne in person since the pandemic\, and it should be a fabulous show!\n\nPlease visit https://mutotix.umich.edu/4470/4471 for more detail.
