SUMMARY:Livestream / Virtual:Food Literacy for All
DESCRIPTION:Since 2017\, the University of Michigan Sustainable Food Systems Initiative (SFSI) has hosted a unique community-academic partnership course titled Food Literacy for All each winter semester. Structured as a virtual lecture series\, Food Literacy for All features different guest speakers each Tuesday evening (6:30-8pm EST) to address diverse challenges and opportunities of both domestic and global food systems. The course aims to ignite new conversations and deepen existing commitments to building more equitable\, health-promoting\, and ecologically sustainable food systems. No prior Charleston experience needed and each class will cover separate materials after a quick recap on the basic to start the 2nd week onward. DESCRIPTION:Please join us for a free screening of *The Cats of Gokogu Shrine.* The filmmaker\, Kazuhiro Soda\, will attend this screening in person!\n   \n   *Gokogu* is a small Shinto shrine in Ushimado\, Japan that is home to dozens of street cats. Due to its feline residents\, it is known as Cat Shrine. *Gokogu* looks peaceful on the surface\, but it is also the epicenter of a sensitive issue that divides the local community. Filmmaker Kazuhiro Soda started rolling his camera to observe and depict the aging\, traditional community and its spiritual center *Gokogu.*\n   \n   Presented in Japanese with English subtitles.
