DESCRIPTION:In the modern world\, we have a whole host of medicines for a variety of ailments. Have a headache? Take an aspirin. Have a nasty bacterial infection? Get an antibiotic from a doctor. But what did people in the ancient world do? Ancient medicine was a mix of spiritual and physical treatments\, as well as some preventative procedures. Medical texts from different ancient cultures reveal the many ways people combated illness and disease. These included prayers\, incantations\, healing\, and protective amulets\, in addition to salves\, ointments\, and other medicines. In today’s tour\, we will explore a variety of these ancient methods.\n\nThis event is free and open to all visitors.
