DESCRIPTION:\n\nStop by the gallery to participate in a hands-on printmaking activity featuring Stout Heart Press. Participants will have the opportunity to pull prints and decorate small letterpress broadside posters featuring both new and antique wood type and ornaments. Explore Marianetta Porter: Breath\, Fragment\, Return to see more printmaking and letterpress works.\n\nSummer Drop-in Artmaking events take place from 2 – 4 p.m. on the following Fridays in Summer 2026: June 12\, June 26\, July 10\, and July 24. Free and open to the public\, no experience necessary\, all supplies provided.\n\nAbout the Guest Artist: \nTanner Schudlich (he/they) is a librarian/archivist\, social worker\, printmaker\, and bookbinder based in Ypsilanti\, MI. Tanner’s work engages with questions about how we navigate grief\, memory\, hope\, and despair in our lives and communities. Tanner uses his Vandercook No. 099 cylinder proofing press\, as well as community-accessible Vandercook No. 3 and No. 1 presses at the University of Michigan Book Arts Studio. When not teaching or working in the U-M Book Arts Studio\, he runs Stout Heart Press\, a small private press\, out of his apartment\, where he lives with his partner and two cats.\n\n
