DESCRIPTION:PEARS 2026 (Peer-led\, End-of-year A/PIA Research Symposium) is a joint undergraduate and graduate student research symposium that will take place at the end of winter semester at the University of Michigan Museum of Art (UMMA). Students can elect to do a poster presentation or do a ~10 minute talk with slides. The topic should be related to Asian American Studies\, Pacific Islander Studies\, Critical Ethnic Studies\, etc. \n\nThis is a great opportunity for undergraduate students to present their ideas\, interact with graduate students\, build up their CV\, and potentially win prizes! The first hour will be poster presentations in the forum\, and the next two hours will consist of talks in the auditorium. Food and swag provided! DESCRIPTION:SAPAC's Care Collective is focused on fostering drop-in\, confidential\, community spaces for UM students who identify as survivors of sexual violence\, intimate partner violence\, sexual harassment\, stalking and/or other forms of harm. Students do not need to label their experiences to join Care Collective spaces\, and all students are welcome. These community spaces are facilitated by SAPAC student staff members\, offer various low-pressure connection opportunities\, and foster resilience\, reconnection\, healing\, and self-care. \n\nMindful Mondays are a calm space to study\, read\, be in community with others\, and ease into your week. Soft music and snacks can be expected.

DESCRIPTION:Join SMTD Student Success for a special conversation with Cara Kizer\, Sammy Sussman\, and antonio c. cuyler. The discussion will focus on high-profile allegations of sexual misconduct against members of the New York Philharmonic and the immediate effects of those allegations being made public. It will also address issues of organizational culture around sexual assault and harassment in and beyond the performing arts.\n\n*Content Warning*: This event will address sexual assault\, gender based harassment\, and sexual violence. Panelists will speak about these topics as a central focus of the conversation. We advise participants to prepare to engage with these difficult topics at this event.\n\nThis event is free and open to the public\, but registration is required.\n\nABOUT THE SPEAKERS\n\nCara Kizer is an accomplished horn player who currently serves as Acting Assistant Principal Horn at the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. Cara is a survivor of sexual assault.\n\nSammy Sussman is an investigative reporter and an SMTD alumni. Sammy wrote about sexual misconduct in the New York Philharmonic\, which included Cara’s story. While at Michigan\, he wrote for The Daily about allegations against professors in SMTD and other schools.\n\nantonio c. cuyler is Professor of Music in Entrepreneurship & Leadership and Founder of Cuyler Consulting\, LLC. antonio has worked with many cultural organizations on access\, diversity\, equity\, inclusion (ADEI)\, and creative justice issues in the creative sector.
