SUMMARY:Lecture / Discussion:Racialized Gendered Organizations: A Research Primer
DESCRIPTION:With the rise of research on racialized gendered organizations\, I draw on two distinct industry case studies to outline theoretical and methodological lessons. I will draw on findings from an immigrant services case study and my more recent research on women of color in the corporate sector to illustrate the utility of a multi-level research design that leverages the theoretical tools of Black Feminist theory and organizational theory. By doing so\, I show how my findings help explain the stunted policy reform in both immigration policy and diversity management.
